Refund & Cancellation Policy

General Rule

Paid event orders may be refunded where the organiser authorises the refund or applicable law requires it.

Current Operational Limits

• Only paid orders can be refunded
• Checked-in tickets cannot be refunded through the current organiser refund tool
• Refunds are processed through Mollie and deducted from the connected organiser's Mollie balance
• Refund availability and timing depend on the payment method, available balance, and Mollie's processing rules

Course Enrollments

Course purchases are linked to a school and an enrollment record. Refund handling for courses may require manual review depending on the purchase type, timing, and school policy.

School Rules

Booking cutoffs, cancellation windows, waiver requirements, and school-specific terms may affect whether a class or course purchase can be cancelled or credited.

Organiser Duties

• Decide and publish event-specific refund rules where required
• Communicate cancellations or material changes to attendees
• Maintain a working payment account when selling through El Barrio

Platform Duties

• Maintain the refund tooling we expose today
• Accurately reflect order state such as pending, paid, failed, cancelled, or refunded
• Provide confirmation and status refresh infrastructure where available

Dated Leisure Services

For dated event tickets and similar leisure services, the ordinary 14-day withdrawal right is generally excluded under EU and Dutch consumer law.

Manual Review Cases

Fraud concerns, duplicate transactions, provider failures, or force majeure situations may require case-by-case review rather than instant automated outcomes.
