How we handle personal data when you discover, organise, buy, teach, and attend through El Barrio.

El Barrio App VOF is the controller for personal data we process for our own platform purposes. Organisers and dance schools may act as separate controllers for their own event, course, and attendee communications.
This policy covers the current El Barrio platform as implemented today, including account creation, social login, guest checkout, ticketing, course enrollments, school attendance records, support, fraud controls, and technical monitoring.
El Barrio App VOF operates the El Barrio platform and determines the purposes and means of core platform processing such as accounts, payments coordination, discovery features, and support.
When you buy a ticket, enroll in a course, or interact with an organiser, that organiser may separately process your information under its own policies and legal obligations.
We process identity and profile data such as name, email address, handle, biography, profile picture, location, dance preferences, and linked authentication identifiers from providers like Google, Facebook, Microsoft, and Yahoo. A provider may return different profile fields depending on the permissions granted and the account information it makes available.
For event sales we process ticket selections, order identifiers, buyer details, guest checkout details, refund state, confirmation delivery, QR code ticket data, and check-in status.
For organiser payment onboarding we process business identity, legal business name, representatives, beneficial owners, bank payout details, operating and registered addresses, verification documents, and provider status snapshots.
For school operations we process enrollment scope, invited email addresses, course orders, purchase type, attendance records, who marked attendance, timetable data, and school-specific booking rules.
We process IP address, browser and device information, session cookies, request logs, fraud and payment signals, and error-monitoring telemetry to keep the service secure and reliable.
We share the operational data needed to run an event or course with the relevant organiser or dance school, including buyer identity, enrollment status, ticket status, and attendance information where applicable.
We may disclose personal data where required by law, to protect platform integrity, or as part of a merger, acquisition, or financing transaction subject to applicable safeguards.
Our web application uses essential cookies for login, session security, saved redirects, and core functionality. When selected by a user, Google, Microsoft, and Yahoo sign-in use OAuth redirects to complete authentication; the Facebook SDK is loaded on the login page for Facebook authentication support. Minimal Sentry exception monitoring helps us keep the service reliable. We also use Vercel Web Analytics for anonymized, aggregate traffic measurement without cookies. Optional Sentry browser diagnostics and Google Analytics only start after the user gives consent through our cookie settings.
Users can accept or refuse optional Google Analytics and Sentry browser diagnostics through our cookie banner and reopen those preferences later through the cookie settings link in the site footer. Minimal exception monitoring remains active to support service reliability. Vercel Web Analytics is disclosed separately because it does not use cookies. Browser controls and direct privacy requests remain available as additional options.
We retain different categories of data for different periods based on operational need, financial recordkeeping, fraud prevention, and dispute handling. Payment and attendance records may be kept longer than profile marketing preferences.
Where service providers process data outside the EEA, we rely on appropriate transfer mechanisms and contractual safeguards.
El Barrio is not intended for children under 16 without the authorisation required by applicable law.
