Third-Party Processing

An organiser authorises El Barrio to connect to its Mollie account through OAuth. El Barrio creates Mollie payment sessions and redirects buyers to Mollie's hosted checkout, while Mollie handles the selected payment method and sends status notifications. El Barrio retrieves the current Mollie payment status before confirming the order and supports refund workflows through Mollie where available.

Payment Methods

The payment methods shown at checkout depend on the organiser's Mollie account, market, and enabled methods. Depending on those settings, Mollie may offer cards, iDEAL, Bancontact, bank-based methods, SEPA Direct Debit, and other supported methods. El Barrio does not promise that every method is available for every organiser, buyer, currency, or transaction.

Payment Ownership and Scope

The connected organiser's Mollie account is the payment account for its sales. El Barrio provides the marketplace, checkout, order, and attendee tooling; it does not become the organiser of the underlying event or course and does not provide an independent regulated payment service.

Connected Merchant Data

Organisations selling through El Barrio must provide merchant, business, banking, and verification data necessary to activate payment capability.

Required Information

• Legal business identity and contact data
• Website and descriptions of the goods or services offered
• Representative, stakeholder, and beneficial-owner data where required
• Identity documents for legal representatives where required
• IBAN and verified payout account holder details
• Mollie onboarding, capability, and verification status information

Activation

Mollie controls onboarding and payment capabilities. El Barrio may restrict or refuse payment-enabled access where the connected account needs data, is under review, has blocked capabilities, is suspended, or is otherwise not ready to process charges.

Statuses

• Pending while Mollie or a payment method is still confirming the payment
• Paid only after El Barrio verifies the current Mollie payment status
• Cancelled, failed, or expired when Mollie reports a definitive non-success outcome
• Refunded when Mollie reports that a supported refund has completed

Public Return Pages

Some checkout flows generate a public status token so the buyer can return to an order status page without a logged-in session.

Risk Controls

• Fraud and duplicate-payment checks
• Mollie KYC, compliance, and payment-risk checks
• Webhook-triggered status refresh against the Mollie API rather than trusting a notification alone
• Capability and eligibility checks before organiser payments are enabled

Settlements, Refunds & Chargebacks

Successful payments first enter the connected organiser's Mollie balance and are settled to the verified bank account according to the Mollie account's configured settlement schedule and applicable controls. Refunds are deducted from the Mollie balance and are subject to the payment method, available balance, and Mollie's processing rules. The organiser remains responsible for the underlying sale and for refunds or chargebacks assigned to its connected Mollie account.

No Independent Money Service

El Barrio is not offering a standalone regulated payment service to end users; it is providing software that coordinates Mollie-backed checkout flows for organisers and schools.
