The Golden Age of Havana returns: Buena Vista Orchestra announces 2026 European tour

The soul of Havana is coming to Europe. The Buena Vista Orchestra, led by legendary trombonist and original musical director of the Buena Vista Social Club (BVSC), Jesús "Aguaje" Ramos, has officially announced an extensive European tour for 2026. This special production brings together the living legends of the world-famous Cuban collective with a selection of contemporary masters to celebrate the rhythms that captured the hearts of the world.

A legacy of cultural excellence.
The original Buena Vista Social Club became a global phenomenon in the late 1990s, won a Grammy, and inspired an Academy Award-nominated documentary. It revitalized interest in traditional Cuban music—son, bolero, and danzón—and remains the global benchmark for Latin American music. The Buena Vista Orchestra continues this historic tradition and preserves the authentic "Golden Sound of Havana" for a new generation.

The Guardians of Tradition
The ensemble consists of a prestigious core of original members who played on the legendary BVSC recordings and world tours:

Jesús "Aguaje" Ramos (Trombone/Zang): De muzikale leider van de groep. Aguaje was een hoeksteen van de originele BVSC, de Afro-Cuban All Stars en de soloprojecten van Ibrahim Ferrer, Omara Portuondo en Rubén González.

Luis "Betún" Mariano Valiente Marín (Congas/Bongos): A master percussionist who provided the heartbeat for the ensemble's most iconic songs.

Fabián García (Bass): The experienced bassist whose deep, melodic grooves define the rhythmic foundation of Cuban son.

Alongside these icons, there is a host of contemporary Cuban talents who ensure that the orchestra's energy remains as fiery as ever:

Geidy Chapman (Lead Vocals): Considered one of Cuba's most versatile voices, she gives every bolero and hymn a moving depth.

Yuri Tejada Rodriguez (Vocals): A lively frontman who perfectly captures the energy and charisma of Havana's modern music scene.

Lorena Ramos Díaz (Trombone / Vocals): A striking talent who adds a powerful female perspective to the brass section and lush vocal harmonies.

Jeyki Ramos (Violin): Following in his father's (Aguaje) footsteps, his violin adds the elegant, classical flair that is essential to the charanga and danzón traditions.

Maikel Ochao (Tres): A virtuoso on the tres, the iconic three-stringed Cuban guitar, who brings to life the complex "mountain" soul of the guajira.

Amaury Tamayo (Trumpet): Provides the compelling, brilliant horn lines that are characteristic of the sound of the "Golden Age".

Andy Abad Acosta (Piano): A master of the syncopated montuno, who keeps the tradition of the great Cuban pianists alive.

Antonio Rubio Borayo (Timbales / Percussion): A rhythmic force that ensures the drive and fire of the orchestra never slacken.

Ivan Reyes Alfonso (Percussion): An essential force in the rhythm section, providing the complex, authentic layers of Cuban percussion that drive the energy of the ensemble.

The 2026 European Tour
visits some of the continent's most prestigious venues and includes no fewer than 48 concerts spread across the entire continent. Fans can expect an evening full of nostalgia and festivity, with timeless hits such as "Chan Chan", "El Cuarto de Tula", and "Candela".

To celebrate this historic return, an exclusive ticket presale has now opened. Fans who secure their tickets during this four-week presale will receive an exclusive, numbered postcard, personally signed by Jesús Aguaje Ramos, as a thank you for their support. The presale runs until June 30 or while supplies last. The regular presale, with the announcement of venues and without the benefits of the presale, begins on July 10.
